Features: The Tiansheng Ling preserved in Tianyi Pavilion is a Ming Dynasty Uge manuscript, consisting of ten volumes. Although it is a fragmented copy, it records the lost Tang Dynasty Ling and Song Dynasty Ling, with many legal provisions that are not documented in existing historical records. Some provisions are even more complete than those recorded in current historical texts. From preliminary organization, the Tiansheng Ling fragments contain 289 provisions, of which 222 are related to the Tang Dynasty Ling. As the only extant Ling from the Tang and Song dynasties, the Tiansheng Ling holds immense academic significance for studying the compilation style and form of Ling in Chinese history, as well as the status and role of the Ling. It will also have a significant impact on the study of Chinese legal history and the formation of ancient Japanese Ritsuryō.
