These articles by Zhou Guanwu are highly meaningful for understanding Lu Xun's life, family background, and the content of his works. The editor has compiled these writings into this book, with the title "Lu Xun's Family, Clan, and Shaoxing Customs at That Time" proposed by the editor. The first three essays were originally intended by the author to be compiled into a single collection, hence a short "Postscript" follows the third essay. The fourth essay was originally an appendix to this collection. In accordance with the author's wishes, the editor has kept these four essays together. The content of the fourth essay is also closely related to Lu Xun's family and clan and Shaoxing customs, so the editor has treated it as part of the main text rather than an appendix. The following three standalone essays were taken from materials compiled by the Shaoxing Lu Xun Memorial Hall at the request of Zhou Guanwu's descendants, with no changes made by the editor. The final essay was originally the postscript to Zhou Zuoren's book "Lu Xun's Former Home."
