Chapters 4 to 15 describe common mental disorders according to the classification scheme of the third edition of the Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria for Mental Disorders (CCMD-3). In recent years, new psychotropic drugs have been continuously introduced and applied in clinical practice. This book briefly introduces several of them in Chapter 16, while traditional drugs are not elaborated upon. The appendix also provides commonly used rating scales in psychiatry for convenient selection and use. Based on the task orientation and characteristics of psychiatric outpatient and emergency department work, this book fully incorporates recent achievements in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. It introduces common mental disorders in the framework of key points in history-taking, physical examination, mental examination, auxiliary examinations, diagnostic key points, medical record documentation, and outpatient and emergency department management. It does not aim for theoretical depth but strives to provide comprehensive key points for quick reference by psychiatric outpatient and emergency department workers. This book is primarily intended for staff working in psychiatric outpatient and emergency departments of mental health institutions. It can also be used as a reference for other professionals engaged in psychological counseling and treatment, as well as for emergency department personnel in general hospitals and community health service workers.
