Features: Writing the preface for Chinese Light Blue and White Porcelain, I felt a deep sense of warmth. Mr. Liang Jiying was born into a family of the first generation in Guangzhou. His family was renowned for its export porcelain business during the late Qing Dynasty. From a young age, he was deeply influenced by his family's love for pottery and developed a fondness for calligraphy, painting, and collectibles. After graduating from the Management Department of university, he worked as a reporter for a newspaper. Mr. Liang is skilled in calligraphy and painting, and in his spare time, he is passionate about collecting artworks. His collection of calligraphy, paintings, and ceramics includes many fine and rare pieces. Chinese Light Blue and White Porcelain aims to promote the ancient Chinese porcelain painting art. Although it is not very long, it is the first monograph to date on this research and exploration of the exquisite porcelain painting technique—light blue and white. Its publication is indeed a joyous occasion for those in the ceramic and art communities. My own interest in Ming and Qing Dynasty calligraphy and painting led to a encounter that sparked my strong interest in light blue and white porcelain, prompting me to begin collecting relevant historical materials and artifacts. The book includes photographs of original porcelain pieces, photographs of works by other collectors, and rare paper and silk paintings by light blue and white porcelain artists, all accumulated over several years. It also features brief introductions to dozens of light blue and white porcelain artists, slightly filling some gaps in this field.
