In 1996, on the eve of the 130th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth, to better reflect the academic and regional characteristics of Guangdong Social Sciences and support the strong disciplines of the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, the editors proposed establishing a permanent column titled "Sun Yat-sen Studies." This initiative was highly praised by the relevant leaders of the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, contributing to the advancement of regional history research, modern Chinese history studies, and the study of Sun Yat-sen and the Xinhai Revolution.
