Author: Wu Chengxue

Features: Chapter 1 discusses the literary background and cultural soil of late Ming prose; Chapters 2 to 6 specifically study the famous prose writers and schools of late Ming; Chapters 7 to 11 examine certain genres and types of late Ming prose; Chapters 12 to 13 analyze the literary mindset and habits reflected in late Ming prose, as well as its artistic traditions and stylistic innovations. Chapters 14 and 15 explore the different influences and fates of late Ming prose in late Ming, the Qing Dynasty, Japan, and 20th-century China, studying its historical status from the perspective of reception. This research aims to balance micro and macro analysis, studying literary genres within their cultural context, and gradually moving from specific, detailed analysis to broader theoretical generalizations. However, as the saying goes, "It is not difficult to know, but to act is the challenge." Research methods may sound grand in theory, but putting them into practice often proves difficult. Due to my limited knowledge, there may be gaps between my research approach and the actual writing, and the research approach and academic viewpoints themselves may not be entirely correct. Therefore, there are bound to be many errors in this book, and I hope for criticism from the academic and reading communities.
