Features: Based on the analysis of the three elements of inquiry, this book briefly explains the definition, implementation, and evaluation points of inquiry learning. These perspectives form a complete system about inquiry learning, which we call the "Three-Dimensional Theory of Inquiry Learning." In summary, the main points of this theory include the following four aspects. (1) Inquiry activities should be comprehensively analyzed from three elements: object, purpose, and method. This reveals that the forms and types of inquiry are rich and diverse. (2) Inquiry learning includes three basic elements: posing questions, collecting and analyzing data, and expressing and communicating. It is not limited to science subjects and is not equivalent to discovery learning or simply answering questions. (3) The implementation of inquiry learning is diverse. It can be adopted in non-disciplinary courses in the form of research-based learning, as well as in disciplinary teaching in the forms of mini-inquiry learning, full-class inquiry learning, and inquiry-based assignments. (4) Under the concept of developmental evaluation, multiple methods are used to evaluate the conditions, processes, and results of inquiry learning.
