Features: The "GB50009-2001 Load Code for the Design of Building Structures" was published by China Building Industry Press. This code was comprehensively revised based on the requirements of the Ministry of Construction's document [1997] No. 108, "Notification on Issuing the '1997 Construction Engineering Standards Formulation and Revision Plan.'" The revision was carried out by the China Academy of Building Research in collaboration with relevant units, based on the "Building Structure Load Code" (gbj9—87) approved by the State Planning Commission in 1987. During the revision process, the revision team conducted special studies, summarized recent design experiences, referred to relevant content of foreign codes and international standards, and widely solicited opinions from units across the country. After repeated revisions and approval, the final version was established. This code consists of 7 chapters and 7 appendices. The main revisions are as follows:
1. Modify the combination rules according to the revised "Unified Standard for the Reliability Design of Building Structures," abandoning the old concept of "wind combination." Add a permanent load effect-controlled combination to the basic load combination. In the design for serviceability limit states, provide both standard and frequent combinations for short-term effect combinations, while adding a frequent value coefficient for variable loads. Provide individual combination value coefficients for all variable load combinations.
2. Adjust and add some items to the floor live load.
3. Adjust the load for roof uniform live load on non-occupied roofs and add provisions for rooftop garden and helicopter landing pad loads.
4. Change crane operation system to crane operation level.
5. Recalculate wind pressure and snow pressure for meteorological stations across the country based on new observation data, and change the basic value return period of wind and snow loads from 30-year return period to 50-year return period. The appendices of the code provide snow pressure and wind pressure values for 10-year, 50-year, and 100-year return periods for major stations nationwide.
6. Add one category to ground roughness.
7. Provide a correction coefficient for terrain conditions in the wind pressure height variation coefficient for mountainous area buildings.
8. Provide special provisions for wind loads on enclosure structural members.
9. Propose considering the mutual interference of buildings in building clusters.
10. Add verification requirements for crosswind-induced vibration in flexible structures.
