Features: This dictionary includes 6,942 ancient and modern proverbs, with 4,368 main entries and 2,574 subentries. Each entry consists of the headword, definition, textual evidence, subentries, etc. The entries are arranged in the order of the Pinyin letters of the first character of the headword. The definitions are detailed, accurate, and easy to understand, generally starting with the explanation of difficult characters or words, followed by the literal and extended or metaphorical meanings of the headword. Each entry has textual evidence, marked with dynasties, authors, and titles. For proverbs with the same meaning but different forms, the commonly used modern forms are listed as main entries, while other forms are listed as subentries after the textual evidence of the main entries. At the beginning of the main text, there are an "Index of Headwords by Pinyin Order" and an "Index of Headwords by Stroke Order" for easy reference and use by readers.
