Features: This revision of the textbook maintains the original style, overall approach, and content system while correcting some textual expressions and data. Additionally, it incorporates modifications to the textbook format and content based on new developments in corporate financial management in China and the evolving requirements of financial management teaching. The main changes are as follows:
1. Basis for Revision
The primary basis for this revision is the recent development and changes in the theory and practice of corporate financial management in China, the revision of laws and regulations such as the Company Law and Securities Law, and the widespread adoption of case-based teaching methods. This necessitates reflecting new developments, adhering to updated legal provisions, and introducing new teaching approaches to better meet teaching needs.
2. Changes in Textbook Format
The revision introduces significant changes in the textbook format, mainly:
- Adding a "Learning Objectives" section at the beginning of each chapter to help students clearly grasp the key points, requirements, and interrelationships of knowledge points before studying each chapter.
- Adding a "Chapter Summary" section at the end of each chapter, along with a list of "Terms and Formulas," to facilitate students' systematic and in-depth understanding and mastery of the overall content after studying each chapter and during review.
- Adding a "Exercises and Cases" section at the end of each chapter, divided into three types: "Thought Questions," "Practice Questions," and "Case Questions," to enable further theoretical reflection, technical exercises, and exploratory discussions during teaching, thereby enhancing the overall teaching effectiveness.
3. Changes in Content
The revision involves certain modifications to the textbook content, mainly:
- Chapter 4 has been restructured from six sections to three, simplifying the classification of stocks and bonds, removing stock issuance conditions, and revising the determination of stock issuance prices.
- Chapter 8, on risk-investment decision analysis, has been supplemented with content on investment options.
- Chapter 9, on securities investment, has been revised to include updated content on securities investment portfolios.
- Chapter 11, on inventory management, has been revised to include updated content on inventory planning.
- Chapter 13, on business taxes and income tax, has been merged, reduced, and supplemented with content on tax planning.
- Chapter 15, on corporate establishment, has had the sections on the establishment of state-owned enterprises and Sino-foreign joint ventures removed, while the content on the establishment of limited liability companies and joint-stock companies has been revised.
