Features: The "Great Dictionary of Chinese Calligraphy" series consists of five volumes: "Dictionary of Chinese Seal Script," "Dictionary of Chinese Clerical Script," "Dictionary of Chinese Regular Script," "Dictionary of Chinese Running Script," and "Dictionary of Chinese Cursive Script." The five dictionaries together include approximately 6,000 common single Chinese characters, with a total of about 10,000,000 calligraphic single characters. The calligraphy dictionaries in this series include characters from the Shang and Zhou dynasty bronze inscriptions, down to the famous calligraphers of the late Qing Dynasty. Calligraphers from the Republic of China period, such as Yu Youren and Li Ruiqing, are also selectively included. Calligraphic characters from Japan, Korea, and other regions that lack artistic typicality have not been included. The calligraphic single characters from all dynasties in this series are selected from the preserved ink traces of calligraphers or the photolithographs of ancient stone inscriptions. For characters with unclear backgrounds or severe damage, appropriate restoration has been performed to restore their original artistic essence, making them easier for readers to practice. The calligraphic single characters in this series are annotated with their sources at the bottom of each character for reference. Considering cost scale and readers' affordability, a list of sources is not included at the end of the book. The arrangement of this series of calligraphy dictionaries maintains the traditional Chinese book layout of reading from right to left, which also aligns with the writing habits of calligraphy art itself.
