Features: The theme of this book is the rationality of environmental ethics. My main purpose in writing this book is to provide a new rational explanation for environmental ethics. This issue caught my attention and interest as early as the early 1990s, but I only started writing papers on this topic in 1999. That year, I published a paper on this issue in the journal Research on Natural Dialectics, titled Regional Community: A Scientific Picture of Harmony Between Humanity and Nature. After that, I published more than ten articles on this topic one after another. This book is the result of these years of thinking about this issue. I hope this book can provide a new intellectual path for the rationality of environmental ethics. Regarding this book, I would like to briefly discuss three issues here: first, the philosophical positioning of environmental philosophy; second, the methodological issue; third, the logical starting point for researching environmental ethics.
