Features: On March 25, 1988, the State Language Work Committee and the Press and Publication Administration jointly released the "Common Characters Table of Modern Chinese," which determined the standard stroke orders for 7,000 characters. The standard stroke orders in the table are implicit, and due to varying interpretations in application, there have been inconsistent practices regarding character stroke orders. Additionally, the standard stroke orders themselves present some challenges. To promote the standardization of China's language and script, and to meet the needs of character research, character teaching, character information processing, publishing and printing, and dictionary compilation, the current standard stroke orders have been improved to form the "Standardization of Stroke Orders for Common Characters of Modern Chinese," which is now being released. The "Standardization of Stroke Orders for Common Characters of Modern Chinese" is based on the "Common Characters Table of Modern Chinese" and has transformed the implicit standard stroke orders into explicit ones, listing three forms of stroke orders. At the same time, it has clarified the stroke orders of some characters in the table that are difficult to deduce from their component strokes, such as "huǒ" (fire), "chā" (cross), "chuàng" (a type of wine vessel), and "shuǎng" (shining). It has also adjusted the stroke orders of "bì" (broken) and "jǐ" (ridge).
