Features: The first part of this book takes the SWAT model as an example to systematically introduce the theory and methods of distributed non-point source pollution models, detailing the framework and steps for constructing a distributed non-point source pollution simulation model coupled with RS and GIS. Through case studies in typical reservoir areas, pastoral areas, and small watersheds, it clarifies the content of spatial and attribute databases required for distributed non-point source pollution simulation, the key factors affecting the simulation, and their spatial variation characteristics. Using scenario simulation methods, it analyzes and compares the control effects of agricultural management and soil and water conservation measures on regional non-point source pollution. The second part of the book focuses on large-scale models suitable for non-point source pollution simulation at the basin scale. This model was meticulously designed and developed by comprehensively considering the distinct geographical characteristics, complex hydrological processes, and limited basic data in different regions. It presents a conceptual model at the large scale, showcasing the authors' first proposed zonal and hierarchical theoretical system for national non-point source pollution estimation, as well as preliminary results on the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of non-point source pollution loads in various basins across the country. Finally, it identifies the key basins and regions for national non-point source pollution control. This book is suitable for reference by graduate students and researchers in the fields of environmental science, basin management, and related disciplines.
