Features: The world trend is overwhelming, and the global scene is colorful. The historical train has brought humanity into the 21st century, where peace and development remain the themes of the era. However, the world is far from peaceful, with complex and ever-changing international situations. China is advancing with giant steps, striving to seize the strategic opportunity period to realize the grand blueprint for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. To achieve this goal, it is essential to strengthen research, understand the world, recognize the current situation, grasp the trajectory of international developments, and seek the initiative. During the great Anti-Japanese War of the Chinese nation, the most important foreign policy goal of the Nationalist Government was to secure international aid, particularly from the United States (from seeking moral aid from the United States to securing comprehensive financial, military, and even political aid from the United States). This demonstrates the increasing prominence of US aid diplomacy in the foreign policy of the Nationalist Government. Song Ziyuan's unique family background, his experience in the United States, and his prominent position in the Central Committee of the Kuomintang and the Nationalist Government were destined to make him closely tied to US aid diplomacy. This book places Song Ziyuan within the broader context of Sino-U.S. relations and comprehensively examines his major diplomatic activities in securing U.S. aid for the Anti-Japanese War from 1931 to 1945. It both objectively acknowledges Song Ziyuan's contributions to the success of U.S. aid diplomacy during the war and highlights the nationalist characteristics of his U.S. aid diplomacy ideas, while also revealing his personal limitations in upholding the rule of the Chiang Kai-shek regime and pursuing personal gains. Through an examination of Song Ziyuan's U.S. aid diplomacy ideas and practices, this book explores the relationship between Song Ziyuan's American experience and Chinese politics, further examining the breadth and depth of the Nationalist Government's relationship with the United States, providing a new perspective for the study of Sino-U.S. relations.
