Features: This book begins with an analysis of two modern texts, exploring the emotional factors behind the pursuit of modernity and the historical inevitability of modern thought. It then examines historical events of the 20th century as case studies, further analyzing the manifestations, goals, essence, and lessons of modernity theory. Modern philosophy has recognized the various crises of modernity, yet it seems to have only (limited to diagnosing symptoms) without the ability to prescribe effective solutions—indeed, it has even exacerbated the crises of modernity. Heidegger thus took a different approach, attempting to save the decline of the spiritual realm through poetic thinking, but the results remained unsatisfactory. However, the path he pioneered has pointed toward a possible direction for resolving the crisis of modernity: a to "classicism." Strauss, with his unique hermeneutical method, promotes classical political philosophy, which may provide beneficial nourishment for the modern fate of the entire Western intellectual tradition.
