Features: With the rapid development of the nursing discipline and the popularization of adult nursing education, it has become urgent to compile a teaching material suitable for adult specialty nursing education. For this purpose, under the organization of the Teaching Material Office of the Ministry of Health, we compiled the textbook "Surgical Nursing." This textbook is one of the first planned textbooks organized nationwide in the field of medical adult education in China, and its target audience is practicing nurses who have completed 2-3 years of secondary nursing education. In terms of content, it reflects the "Three Basics and Five Qualities" (Three Basics: basic theoretical knowledge, basic thinking methods, and basic practical skills; Five Qualities: ideological, scientific, advanced, inspirational, and adaptable). This book reflects the transformation of nursing models and adopts a writing framework based on the nursing process, using the basic steps of the nursing process as the main thread of the book to meet the needs of clinical holistic nursing. Due to the individual differences among patients, the ever-changing course of diseases, and the limitations of the number of words in this book, the nursing goals are only discussed in principle during the writing process, and the "evaluation" step in the nursing process is omitted.
