Features: The new edition of "Sketching" textbooks was developed in response to the urgent demand of young art enthusiasts. It is a completely updated and improved version based on the original "Sketching" textbooks. Over the past five years, the "Sketching" textbooks have introduced tens of thousands of young people to the world of art and helped them enter the doors of art academies, making a broad impact. At the invitation of the Ministry of Education, I was responsible for the compilation of this new edition of "Sketching" textbooks. Although the primary audience remains young students, we strive for meticulous art education quality, including clear and gradual explanations and high-standard demonstrations. For this purpose, four experienced senior teachers from the Shanghai University of Fine Arts and Tongji University, all with rich teaching experience, were organized to co-author this book. The new edition of "Sketching" aligns with the psychological and artistic cognitive patterns of young people, catering to the current examination requirements of various majors in secondary and higher art schools. It is divided into four volumes: "Geometric Solids and Still Life," " Busts," " Head and Chest Portraits," and "Portrait Sketching," progressing from simple to complex and in a step-by-step manner, which is highly beneficial for beginners' training. I hope to see more art enthusiasts join us in opening the door to the art of sketching and to see their presence among the ranks of artists in the new century.
