Design fundamentals training helps aspiring design students break free from existing habitual thinking patterns, gradually shifting from the thinking mode of a "natural person" to that of a "designer." Therefore, it is an innovative preliminary education aimed at cultivating outstanding design talents. Design color is a color shaping form guided by design concepts, involving various color sketches, color research, and color practical activities conducted with the teaching objective of art design. Over a long period, in the color teaching of design disciplines, we followed the teaching content and methods of shaping disciplines, encountering numerous difficult problems in both teaching and design applications, which made us deeply aware of the differences between the two. How to make color training become the essential training for design creation rather than just training for artistic expression has become an important issue for design color shaping teaching to research and solve. Many design educators and practitioners have rethought design fundamentals education from the end of design practice, actively exploring the concepts, objectives, methods, and significance of color teaching as the foundation of design shaping education.
