Features: The "Hope Cup" National Mathematics Invitational Competition contains all the questions with rich connotations, which is obviously an exaggeration. However, there is indeed a part of the problems that are truly outstanding. They possess rich background knowledge and broad thinking space. If analyzed and studied from different perspectives and levels, the knowledge and intellectual nourishment gained will undoubtedly far exceed the problems themselves. It is precisely out of this understanding that we have specially compiled and published "Selected and Detailed Explanations of Past 'Hope Cup' National Mathematics Invitational Competition Questions" (one volume each for junior high school grades 7 and 8, and senior high school grades 9 and 10). Among the authors are members of the "Hope Cup" Question-setting Committee, including experienced mathematicians, university professors, and outstanding secondary school teachers. They all have a strong foundation in mathematics and have deeply studied the questions of past "Hope Cup" competitions each year, having once coached gold and silver medalists and published insightful articles on "Hope Cup" questions. Under the guidance of the "Hope Cup" Question-setting Committee, these authors selected a portion of the more than 2,000 questions from the "Hope Cup" National Mathematics Invitational Competition and conducted as thorough an analysis as possible of these problems, striving to fully reveal their connotations. This is how this series of books came to be.
