Features: The self-sealed stamps of Qi Baishi are the most representative essence of his seal carving art. Many stamps were meticulously crafted through repeated creations. If these stamps are arranged in chronological order, the evolution of his seal carving style becomes exceptionally clear, directly reflecting the maturation of techniques and the transformation and elevation of artistic concepts, as well as his profound dedication. His inscriptions on the stamps also contain self-reflections on his struggles and joys. The changes in his studio names and titles further reveal certain patterns. Although his studio names in his later years largely remained the same as those used during his middle years when he lived in his hometown, the seal carving styles over the decades have undergone significant transformations. During his multiple relocations in Beijing, these names were alternately used. By combining the changes in studio names and titles with the characteristics of his seal carving style, it becomes easier to distinguish their temporal belonging.
