Features: For the convenience of scholars in copying, the editor selected the nine famous Tang steles, including the well-regarded "Nine Dragons Screen" by Ouyang Xun, "Dapota Pagoda" by Yan Zhenqing, and "Xuanmi Pagoda" by Liu Gongquan. Based on the original (rubbing), the calligraphy was scientifically categorized according to the structure and stroke forms of Chinese characters. Each category was further divided into eight different stroke types based on their posture. For each stroke type, four or six characters were chosen as the standard for that calligraphic style. The selection prioritized well-structured and beautifully executed strokes. However, some stele inscriptions were too worn or the rubbings were too imprecise, causing the stroke edges to blur. To address this, the editor spent considerable time using ink and chalk to redraw and repair the strokes, then printed them using photolithography to preserve the original rubbing as much as possible, making it easier for beginners to copy without going astray.
