Family, private property, and the origin of the state

Author: Engels (Germany), translated by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party's Translation Bureau of Marxist-Leninist Works
Publisher:
Publication Date: 1999-08-01
Features: Since the publication of the Collected Works of Marx and Engels, Collected Works of Lenin, Selected Works of Marx and Engels, and Selected Works of Lenin, readers have urgently demanded the publication of individual volumes of Marxist-Leninist works. This reflects their strong desire to study Marxism-Leninism and their diverse needs for these works. To meet this demand, we have decided to compile and publish a series of Marxist-Leninist works titled The Marx-Engels-Lenin Library. This library compiles important works of classical Marxist-Leninist writers and publishes them in standalone volumes. Works that can stand alone as books are published as individual books; some important articles and letters are compiled into thematic collections; and some works include appendices that gather the author's related writings and materials directly related to the book. To assist readers in their study and research, each book includes "Notes" and "Index of Names" after the main text, and some works also include "Index of Subjects." The translations and materials are based on the new editions of the collected works and selected works. For works that do not yet have new editions, the translations are revised according to the requirements of the new editions, and the materials are compiled accordingly. This library, when used in conjunction with the collected works and selected works, can meet the diverse needs of readers. Theoretical workers, educators, publicity workers, cadres at all levels, college and university students, and other readers can select the works they need from this library or systematically collect them. We hope that the publication of this library will promote the study and research of Marxism-Leninism across the country, help cadres use the Marxist stance, perspective, and methods to study and solve new problems in the construction of socialist modernization, and contribute to the development of socialist material and spiritual civilization.
