Features: This book is one of the series textbooks for the Wood Engineering program at Tongji University. More than nine years have passed since its first publication. The current second edition is based on the "Basic Requirements for Teaching Structural Mechanics in Higher Industrial Schools" approved by the former State Education Commission, the teaching syllabus for the "Structural Mechanics" course formulated by the School of Civil Engineering at Tongji University, and the structural mechanics textbooks for civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, transportation engineering, and other majors at Tongji University. It can also be referenced by faculty, students, and engineering professionals from non-structural disciplines. The book is published in two volumes. The first volume includes Introduction, Geometric Analysis of Plane Systems, Internal Force Analysis and Displacement Calculation of Statically Determinate Structures, Influence Lines of Statically Determinate Structures, and Force Method for Solving Indeterminate Structures. The second volume includes Displacement Method, Matrix Displacement Method, FORTRAN Computer Programs for Structural Static Analysis, Approximate Methods, Influence Lines of Indeterminate Structures, Structural Dynamics, Elastic Stability of Structures, and Limit Load of Structures. The content marked with an asterisk () is optional for study. Different majors can choose according to their needs. Each chapter is accompanied by a rich set of exercises, with answers provided for some of them.
