Residential Building (Detailed Drawings of Famous Works by Renowned Architects)

Features: The gap between imagination and reality proves that overly perfect and avant-garde concepts often fail to materialize. Without the constraints of funding or technical means, they are sometimes merely a hodgepodge of excessive concepts. In this book, the elements of completed projects (i.e., some single-family homes) are studied. In these projects, construction details, material selection, and technical treatments are equally important as site planning or facade composition. Additionally, the houses we feature are from different countries, and their construction methods may be familiar locally but vastly different in other regions. Each chapter includes a brief introduction written by the architects themselves. The floor plans are proportioned for easy measurement and comparison, and the construction details are annotated with every material. Meanwhile, carefully selected photographs are included to better showcase the appearance of the completed projects. Therefore, this book helps bridge the gap between imagination and reality.
