Features: This standard was completed based on the task assigned by the Office of the National Development and Reform Commission's "Notice on Issuing the Supplementary Plan for Industry Standard Projects in 2003" (No. 873, Guifan Gongye (2003)). Compared to the original standard, the following revisions have been made:

- In the chapter on "Hydrogeological Survey of Water Supply in Thermal Power Plants," the section on "Hydrogeological Tests" has been supplemented with the addition of "Injection Test," "Determination of Actual Groundwater Velocity," "Seepage Test," and other related hydrogeological test requirements.
- New regulations have been introduced for the division of stages in the hydrogeological survey of water supply in thermal power plants.
- The section on "Survey and Evaluation" has emphasized the concepts of hydrology and water resources.
