Features: With the national economy growing at an annual rate of nearly 10%, the power system, as the forerunner of the national economy, has been expanding at an ultra-normal speed in recent years. Large substations have been popping up like mushrooms, and the technology, upgrading, and renewal of substation equipment have accelerated. In particular, computer technology, power electronic technology, and communication technology have been increasingly integrated into the core of substation control equipment. Based on years of experience in ultra-high voltage transmission and distribution operations and educational training, Shanghai Ultra-High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Company has organized and compiled the "Ultra-High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Operation Skills Training Textbook" (a set of 7 volumes) to meet the training needs of ultra-high voltage transmission and distribution enterprises nationwide for team building, job training, and skill assessment in response to the development of ultra-high voltage transmission networks. "Transmission Line" is the fourth volume of this textbook, divided into 14 chapters, with the main content being:
Chapter 1: Basic Components and Materials of Transmission Lines, introducing the composition of lines and materials such as steel, cement, conductors, overhead ground wires, insulators, hardware, and towers.
Chapter 2: Construction and Maintenance Tools, introducing lifting poles, pulleys, steel ropes, U-shaped rings, traction machinery, double-groove tensioners, hand-chain hoists, temporary ground anchors, and other construction tools.
Chapter 3: Mechanical Calculations for Transmission Lines, introducing the mechanical physical properties of overhead lines, load calculation, uniformly distributed loads, calculations under meteorological changes, and non-uniformly distributed loads.
Chapter 4: Line Surveying, introducing the use and measurement of theodolites, line design, and construction surveying.
Chapter 5: Tower Foundations, introducing the construction of concrete and cast-in-place foundations, winter construction, drilled pier construction, steel pipe pile construction, as well as acceptance and handling of construction issues.
Chapter 6: Steel Pipe Towers, introducing processing and testing, construction requirements for splicing and flange connections, and acceptance.
Chapter 7: Steel Tower Erection, introducing material preparation for steel towers, external and internal pulling lines, pole-supported steel tower construction, and tower acceptance.
Chapter 8: Conductor and Ground Wire Spreading and Accessory Installation, introducing conductor and ground wire spreading, connection requirements, tensioning, accessory installation, sag adjustment calculations, and verification.
Chapter 9: Grounding Devices, introducing lightning protection and grounding design, construction, and soil resistance measurement.
Chapter 10: Line Maintenance, introducing maintenance cycles, safety technologies, and maintenance content.
Chapter 11: Line Operation and Maintenance, introducing line operation standards and patrol requirements, pollution flash prevention of insulators, line vibration prevention, defect management, and technical management.
Chapter 12: Tools and Materials for Live-line Work, introducing insulation, metal, processing, and the use, storage, and testing of commonly used tools for live-line work.
Chapter 13: Safety Technologies for Live-line Work, introducing meteorological conditions for live-line work, safety distances, electrostatic induction protection, and safety technologies and requirements for tool use.
Chapter 14: Live-line Work Projects for Ultra-High Voltage Lines, introducing live-line detection, replacement of straight and tension insulator strings, replacement of vibration dampers, tower lead removal, and conductor repair.
Additionally, each chapter includes review questions. This book can serve as a training textbook for power production personnel, technical staff, and management cadres in ultra-high voltage transmission enterprises nationwide to study and understand job knowledge and operational skills related to ultra-high voltage transmission lines. It can also be used as supplementary teaching material for professional courses in power vocational colleges and universities, as well as a training manual for job skill training and vocational skill assessment.
