How to determine if a newborn is experiencing asphyxia?

Patient's question:

Line check chest X-ray can show unclear edges, how to judge whether the newborn is asphyxia?

Doctor's answer:

Line inspection of chest X-ray may show unclear margins, patchy shadows of varying sizes, sometimes visible partial or complete atelectasis, focal emphysema, changes similar to pneumonia, and pleural effusion. ECG examination shows prolonged P-R interval, widened QRS complex, decreased amplitude, elevated T wave, and ST segment depression. Head ultrasound or CT can detect the location and extent of intracranial hemorrhage. Amniotic fluid examination for intrauterine hypoxic fetuses can assess the degree of meconium staining in the amniotic fluid through amniocentesis, or obtain fetal scalp blood for blood gas analysis when the fetal head is exposed to the cervix to estimate the degree of intrauterine hypoxia.
