Is hypoxia related to amniotic fluid?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, is it related to amniotic fluid whether the pregnant woman suffers from hypoxia during pregnancy? Please help me explain it.

Doctor's answer:

Hypoxia is somewhat related to amniotic fluid, but it doesn't mean that clear amniotic fluid necessarily indicates the absence of hypoxia. Only when hypoxia reaches a certain extent can it potentially lead to the child passing meconium in the womb, polluting the amniotic fluid. Premature rupture of membranes can easily lead to the child experiencing hypoxia. Generally, (cloudy amniotic fluid) makes it easier for the baby to suffer from hypoxia. Clear amniotic fluid does not represent that the baby is not hypoxic. The hypoxia of the baby needs to be judged based on the situation after birth.
