Features: The original name of the Turning River was from a wealthy family in the past and was once part of the Imperial River, serving as a waterway for royal dignitaries to travel to the Summer Palace. In 1905, during the construction of the Beijing-Dongding Railway, it was diverted to the north, the Xizhimen Railway Station, and then turned south in a zigzag shape to connect with the North moat. It was then named the Turning River. Between 1975 and 1982, due to the construction of the subway, the Turning River was straightened and connected to the western end of the North moat via underground channels, causing it to fade from public view. Today, the Turning River has re-emerged, becoming a beautiful landmark in Beijing, providing residents with a wonderful space for leisure and recreation, and boosting the prosperity and development of the surrounding area. This not only reflects the people-centered scientific development concept but also demonstrates the modern water conservancy trend of "nature, water-friendly, and culture." Clear waters and flowing rivers, the Turning River has added vitality to Beijing, bringing the city a spiritual essence. On the occasion of the Turning River's completion over two years ago, the illustrated book on the design of the Turning River has been officially published, allowing us to get a closer look at the new Turning River and the new water conservancy.
