II. Basic Knowledge of Safe Operation
1. When setting up formwork, follow the work procedures. Do not leave or engage in other tasks until the formwork is secured.
2. The top supports of formwork must be vertical, with flat and firm bases, and padded with wood.
3. Tools such as nails and hammers should be placed in tool bags and not scattered around.
4. For column formwork over 3 meters high, diagonal braces should be installed around, and an operating platform must be set up. For those under 3 meters, scaffolding can be used. When setting up cantilevered formwork, stable footholds must be provided.
5. When setting up formwork for open-sided structures, scaffolding or ladders should be erected. If there are precast openings in the formwork, they must be covered after installation. After dismantling, edges or openings must be protected.
6. For independent beam formwork, a temporary work platform must be set up. Do not operate from column formwork or walk on beam bottom templates.
7. When setting up or dismantling formwork for exterior walls, side columns, eaves, or ring beams, reliable footholds must be provided, along with guardrails and safety nets. Workers at edges must wear safety harnesses and strictly avoid leaning over to operate.
8. When using portal frame supports, cross braces must be installed on both sides of the frames and locked with locking pins on the vertical legs. Connection rods and locking arms must be used to assemble upper and lower frames. Mismatched frames and accessories must not be mixed.
9. Formwork supports must not be connected to unreliable or temporary objects such as doors and windows. Column heads, connections, vertical supports, and tie rods must be securely installed as a whole before workers leave.
10. Climbing up and down on connectors and supports is strictly prohibited. Dismantling and assembling formwork on the same vertical plane is also prohibited.
11. Formwork must only be dismantled after concrete strength meets requirements and with approval from the project technical supervisor. Dismantling must be done in sequence and in sections.
12. Do not use forceful prying, hard hammering, or large-scale pulling down when dismantling formwork to prevent injury or damage to materials.
13. The vertical legs of the bottom portal frame must be equipped with fixed or adjustable bases, with adjustable screw extensions not exceeding 200 mm. Horizontal reinforcement bars must be installed on all vertical legs of portal frame supports.
14. No suspended formwork should be left during dismantling to prevent sudden falls that could cause injury.
