Why can't children speak yet?

Patient's question:

Only knows some simple words, mostly two-character ones. You teach her or she wants to say but can't. Sometimes she talks non-stop alone, but you can only understand a few sentences. When you ask her to get something, she will get it. She can take anything, you say anything, she understands it, that's it!

Doctor's answer:

Hello, according to your description, there is no problem with your baby's intellectual development; it's just that their language expression ability is relatively weak. Many children are in this situation, so don't worry. As long as the child's intelligence is normal, their language function will gradually improve with age. You can regularly expose them to children's songs or stories. If you're still concerned, you can have a systematic developmental assessment done at the local children's health care department to evaluate early language development and assess the Kirschner scale.
