The 47th Army is a renowned unit of the People's Liberation Army. Its predecessor was born in Da'anli, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, as the Independent Division of the Red Army in October 1930. During the First Revolutionary War, it participated in five counter-"encirclement and suppression" campaigns, defending the Soviet region, breaking through to the west, returning east, and fighting in Hunan and Guizhou, successfully completing the Long March of 25,000 li. During the War of Resistance against Japan, as part of the 359th Brigade, it fought in the Jin-Chaobaihe Border Region, ?. In 1940, it launched the vibrant Nanniwan Mass Production Movement, setting an example of self-reliance and hard struggle for the entire army. During the War of Liberation, it participated in the famous Battle of Heishan, resisting the attack of the Liao Yaoxiang Corps, which was five times its size, winning time and creating opportunities for the army to capture Jinzhou and eliminate the Liaoshen forces. Later, it participated in major battles such as liberating Beijing and Tianjin, crossing the Yangtze River southward, liberating Chongqing, and suppressing bandits in Western Hunan. In the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, it severely damaged the U.S. Cavalry Division and shocked the heavens and earth at Mount Dequan. The battle history of the 47th Army eloquently proves that this unit is a valiant force that is not afraid of difficulties, brave in sacrifice, fierce in battle, invincible, full of heroes, and with outstanding achievements.
