Features: "The Collection of Eastern Culture" was advocated by Professor Ji Xianlin and organized for writing and publishing by the editorial committee jointly established by the China Society of Eastern Culture and the Institute of Oriental Studies, Peking University. This is a global cultural project aimed at the revival and renewed glory of Eastern culture in the 21st century. The book is divided into five chapters, analyzing the Sumerian epic "Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta" from different perspectives. It also provides a Chinese translation of the epic, primarily in verse with a combination of prose and verse, supplemented by a large number of highly academic annotations. Unlike previous works by Western scholars on the subject, this book highlights the following three features: 1. Offering new interpretations and readings of the text; 2. Interpreting and analyzing relevant historical figures, events, and certain concepts based on the text; 3. Summarizing and evaluating the discussions and debates about Sumerian epics that have taken place in Western academia over the past few decades, especially in the last two decades.
