Features: Since its first publication, this dictionary has been widely favored by readers both domestically and internationally, with over one million copies sold. Recognizing the increasing use of American English, the revised edition notes differences in spelling, pronunciation, and usage between American and British English. It also highlights collocations of verbs, nouns, adjectives, and prepositions, further enhancing the dictionary's practical value. Chinese definitions are annotated with Pinyin and include relevant traditional characters. English pronunciations use Jones' Pronunciation Symbols and the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), with detailed phonetic instructions provided in the "Pronunciation Guide" at the beginning of the main text. The revised edition of the Selected English-Chinese Dictionary retains and improves upon the original edition's concise and practical content, compact layout, and portable design. It serves as both a reference for Chinese readers learning and using English, and a valuable tool for English learners and users of Chinese abroad.
