It is a purposeful creative activity that aims to construct a living environment conducive to human life, employs production technology as a means, comprehensively addresses the psychological needs of users, and transforms cultural and ideological concepts into lifestyle. To improve the overall level of furniture designers in our country and cultivate more design talents, the academic community is making relentless efforts. Shandong University of Art and Design, like other sister institutions, adheres to the educational philosophy of "focusing on art disciplines while complementing them with engineering and humanities, breaking down professional boundaries, and gradually establishing and refining the teaching system and academic structure while serving the economy and culture of Shandong and striving for national development." On this basis, the university has established a Bachelor's degree program in furniture design and a Research Institute of Furniture Design, inviting a number of influential experts and professors from both domestic and international backgrounds to work and teach at the institution. In terms of teaching models, it has explored the integration and cross-fertilization between art and science/humanities, as well as between domestic and international contexts, achieving preliminary results.
