Features: The Wordsworth of Human Life is a masterpiece by Wang Guowei, in which he incorporates Western philosophy and aesthetic theories that he calls "credible but not lovable" and "lovable but not credible," using a clear and vigorous style to critique the great poets and works of the Tang and Song dynasties. The Wordsworth of Human Life proposes the theory of "" (artistic realm), distinguishing the high and low of ci poetry through the concepts of "" (obscured) and "" (unobscured). It is uniquely creative, revealing insights previously unexplored by predecessors, and solidified his position in the field of classical literary and aesthetic research. Through the term "" (classical elegance), he discusses the differences between "" (artificial creation) and "" (mirroring reality), "" (subjective) and "" (objective), "" (idealistic) and "" (realistic), as well as "" (subjective poets) and "" (objective poets). The book is filled with timeless and insightful critiques, and the quoted poems and ci lyrics nearly encompass the essence of Tang and Song dynasty ci poetry. Therefore, The Wordsworth of Human Life can also be considered an excellent selection of Tang and Song ci poetry. There are many versions of The Wordsworth of Human Life, with slight variations in the included content and different arrangements of the entries.
