Features: Shuxue is a branch of Chinese academia, uniquely embodying the cultural strengths of Sichuan. It originated in the early Han Dynasty, flourished during the Jin and Tang periods, and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty, continuing until the late Qing Dynasty with Xia Fuchang. Since the introduction of Western learning in modern times, it has been closely associated with reform and innovation, establishing lecture halls in the capital to promote new studies and running the Sichuan Newspaper in Sichuan to comment on current affairs. Liang Qichao highlighted it with a dedicated study, and Meng Wentong wrote a special article on the subject, further elevating its prominence. Thus, it has a solid foundation and its reputation is well-deserved. Now, we have created this journal to open a new field for academic exploration, without boundaries. We hope that our Sichuan colleagues, academic mentors, and scholars from beyond our region will support this grand endeavor. To inherit the tradition of Shuxue and flourish Chinese academia, we will strive diligently and act with strength. Freedom and independence are the embodiment of a scholar's character; seeking innovation and engaging in debate are the direct paths to the highest realm of knowledge. Simplicity and caution promote the spirit of practical learning; upholding reason and engaging in reasoned discourse seek truth. The Min Mountains are vast, and the Min River is wide. The cause of Shuxue is as enduring as the mountains and rivers. The light of Shuxue will be carried forward by us.
