Features: The Story of Zhang Xie and Yuan Shuang (Zhang Xie Yuanzhang) utilizes scene changes in its stage presentation, where the scenes and environments transform with the entrances and exits. The annotations in this book were conducted based on Mr. Qian's Annotations of Three Plays from the Yongle Encyclopedia (Zhonghua Book Company, 1979 edition) and Mr. Wang Jisi's Complete Yuan Drama: Zhang Xie Yuanzhang (People's Literature Publishing House, 1999 edition), with significant reference and benefit. All quoted material has been duly noted. This annotation adopts the manuscript of the Yongle Encyclopedia from the Ancient Drama Anthology (Guben Xiqu Congkan) as the base text.
