Features: Our great motherland has a long history, beautiful mountains and rivers, abundant resources, thus possessing a large number of famous cities and towns with unique local specialties, traditional cultures, folk arts, historical sites, and scenic spots. However, to compile and introduce all these famous cities and towns in our country is far from an easy task. The publication of the "Splendid Chinese Civilization Series · Famous Towns Volume" is merely an attempt. It preliminarily gathers some introductory materials that we have contacted and acquired. In the future, under possible conditions, we hope to continue this work to more comprehensively reflect the characteristics of numerous famous towns in our country. During the writing process of this book, we received care and support from teachers of institutions such as Sichuan University, Southwest Normal University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu Medical College, Sichuan Reproductive Health College, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Southwest University for Nationalities, Central China Normal University, and Shaanxi Normal University.
