In the autumn of 1936, Mr. Ma Changtao joined the National Central Museum as an assistant researcher. Before 1949, Mr. Ma Changtao primarily engaged in ethnological research, conducting fieldwork in the Yi, Jiarong Tibetan, and Qiang ethnic areas in Southwest China. These papers all apply the theories and methods of ethnology, combining the results of ethnological field research and documentary studies, and hold significant academic value.
