Features: Deliberative democracy is a new form of democratic theory and practice that emerged in Western countries in the late 20th century, representing a certain transcendence of traditional representative democracy and marking a new development in two-party democracy. Leading figures in two-party intellectual circles such as Rawls, Giddens, and Habermas are active advocates of deliberative democracy. "The Deliberative Democracy Translation Series" selects representative works by Western scholars on deliberative democracy research, to a significant extent reflecting the intellectual origins, key figures, main viewpoints, important debates, and practical foundations of contemporary Western deliberative democracy theory. It aims to provide foundational literature for domestic readers to understand and study contemporary Western democratic politics. This book is one of the series, demonstrating that when other theories are at a loss in the face of major challenges in modern society, deliberative theory can convincingly and systematically explain solutions to these problems. The book seeks to show that when other theories are at a loss in the face of major challenges in modern society, deliberative theory can convincingly and systematically explain solutions to these problems. The greatest practical value of this book lies in its ability to advance our understanding and insight into these complex issues.
