Features: To effectively measure the Chinese language proficiency of non-Chinese speakers engaged in business activities and meet the needs of the non-Chinese-speaking learning market worldwide, the Business Chinese Test (BCT) was developed under the commission of Peking University. The Business Chinese Test research project is a national key research project. In July 2005, China held the first "World Chinese Conference," marking a new phase in the international promotion of Chinese. To better adapt to the new situation and ensure that the Business Chinese Test syllabus reaches higher standards in theoretical elaboration, question design, and written expression to meet the global demand for business exams, experts from both domestic and international institutions were invited again to review and revise the syllabus. It was decided to name the test "Business Chinese Test" (BCT). Subsequently, the test papers were adjusted accordingly based on expert feedback. In 2006, the revised new papers underwent another round of pilot testing domestically and internationally, and the final question types were determined. Based on expert feedback, the revised syllabus was completed in August 2006. To ensure that the Business Chinese Test truly measures the test-takers' language communication skills in business environments, most of the test materials are taken from real business contexts and have been appropriately modified as needed. Due to the of the questions, it is not feasible to list the sources of all the materials. This note serves as an explanation.
