Dreams and Reality: The Far East Watch Series

Publish Date: 2006-06-01
Features: This book is a collection of academic essays by the renowned scholar Professor Ge Jianxiong, with some contents published for the first time. Upholding the conscience of intellectuals, the author faithfully records reality with the pen of a historian, his thoughts soaring across the vast expanse of time between the past and the future. Perhaps the fusion of dreams and reality is also a dream, but as the author states, "If we have no dreams at all, how will we face the future?" The essays included in this book reflect two aspects: on one hand, they are the author's records and responses to reality; on the other hand, they are his reflections on the past and dreams for the future. Combining them together is merely a hope that beautiful memories and romantic dreams can become reality. Perhaps this is also a dream, but if we have no dreams at all, how will we face the future?
