It holds both reference value and the function of an encyclopedic work, making it highly valued by scholars studying the history of Chinese literature and poetry. The Japanese publishing house Shuppan Bukuro once published a photolithographic edition of this work in 1996 based on the manuscript preserved in the National Diet Library. For this occasion, "Classified Garden of Ancient Poems" is published in a companion edition with "Classified Garden of Tang Poetry." Both works were compiled by the renowned scholar Nakajima Toshio of Aichi University, Japan, who also wrote the preface and compiled the index. As a large-scale collection of poems from the Tang Dynasty and earlier, it is of immense reference value. An "Author and Title Index" has been added at the end of the book for readers' convenience.
