Features: "Tang Shi Le Yuan" is a comprehensive collection of Tang poetry organized by categories, comprising 200 volumes. It includes over 30,000 poems and is one of the three major sources for the compilation of "Quan Tang Shi." In terms of compilation time and scale of poems, it holds foundational significance and is highly valued by scholars studying the history of Chinese literature and poetry. The Japanese publishing house Shoku Shoin once photocopied it in 1996 based on the manuscript preserved in the National Diet Library. This release is paired with "Ancient Poems Le Yuan." Volume 7 is the index.
Zhang Zhixiang's "Tang Shi Le Yuan," comprising 200 volumes, is a continuation of Tang poetry that organizes and collects all Tang poems by theme. The term "all Tang poems" refers to the collection gathered by Zhang Zhixiang up to the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. Subsequently, as everyone knows, there were the 1,029 volumes of "Tang Yin Tong Jian" by Hu Zhenheng of the Ming Dynasty, the 770 volumes of "Tang Shi" by Xiu Zhenyi of the Qing Dynasty, and the 900 volumes of the Kangxi Emperor's revised "Quan Tang Shi," which further completed the continuation of Tang poetry. The exact number of poems included in "Le Yuan" has not yet been determined.
