Features: The full title of The Diamond Sutra is The Diamond Sutra of Perfection of Wisdom in the Two Ways, also known as The Diamond Sutra That Cuts Through Illusions or The Perfection of Wisdom That Cuts Through Illusions. Early Mahayana Buddhism promoted the teachings of wisdom (prajna). "Prajna" means "wisdom," referring to the special understanding used to achieve enlightenment. Buddhists believe that mastering this wisdom can lead to the shore of Nirvana. It is also one of the "Six Perfections" advocated by the Mahayana Buddhist school of the Dharma Realm. The Diamond Sutra is over 5,000 characters long and essentially encapsulates the main ideas of the Prajna classics. Its 27 themes primarily explain the theory of "emptiness and illusory existence" of all phenomena. It can be said that it is a summary of Prajna thought, and since its publication, it has been highly valued and revered by Mahayana Buddhists. The Plain Language Diamond Sutra is one of the Buddhist cultural essence series published by Sanqin Publishing House. The author translates, annotates, and explains the Diamond Sutra word by word, line by line, to facilitate reading and collection by scholars and enthusiasts of Buddhist scriptures.
