Features: The original editorial concept of this book was to break through the framework of traditional compendia, aiming to compile materials in thirty categories such as economy, politics, and cultural institutions for the benefit of research on the Warring States period. The sources far exceeded the traditional scope of compendia organized around the politics of feudal dynasties. Now, according to the publisher's requirements for the series, it has been rearranged in the style of traditional compendia, resulting in significant differences. The Warring States period was not a unified dynasty, but when treating it as a unified dynasty following the model of the Western Han compendia, the political situation of the seven states' contention and the Zhou already reduced to a vassal cannot be reflected in the historical records. Therefore, in most cases, additional headings for the states are included in the categories: for example, under "Lineages," in addition to the Zhou royal lineages, the lineages of the Qin kings, Qi kings, etc., are also listed; under "Official Positions," the official positions of Qin, Qi, Chu, and other states are added.
