Features: Jiyun is an important Middle Chinese rhyme dictionary, first compiled in the fourth year of the Jingyou era (1037 AD) during the Song Dynasty. At that time, Zheng Xian, Song Qi, and others submitted memorial critiques to the Emperor Renzong, criticizing Guanyun for "relying heavily on old texts and having inappropriate omissions." Consequently, the Emperor ordered Ding Du and others to revise Guanyun. The revision was completed in the second year of the Baoyuan era (1039 AD), and it was officially named Jiyun. The Jiyun commonly found today are mostly in the form of shadow Song editions, Yao editions, Cao editions, etc., while Song editions are rarely seen. This book uses a Song edition preserved in the Beijing Library. Due to its excellent preservation, it is quite complete, with only minor damages. As it is an original Song edition, it naturally contains fewer errors than other printed versions. However, there are a few minor mistakes in the original Song edition: in the sixth volume, the small rhyme characters that should have been on page 11 were mistakenly placed in the Qiao rhyme on page 13, while the Qiao and Hao rhyme characters that should have been on page 13 were mistakenly placed in the small rhyme on page 11. For the convenience of readers, the pages 11 and 13 were swapped during typesetting to restore the original order of the rhymes. At the end of the book, there is a four-corner number index, made by cutting and pasting the original book's character headers, which is highly accurate and easy to use for reference.
