Features: In recent years, with the growing prosperity and vibrancy of coin collecting and research activities in China, the demand for coinology books among readers has also increased. Readers not only need high-level research works but also accessible popular reading materials. To adapt to this trend, the Chinese Numismatic Society planned to compile a series of books, "The Chinese Coinage Series," reflecting the current level of numismatics. Meanwhile, Zhonghua Book Company also proposed publishing a "Coinage Series" aimed at a broad readership. On this basis, both parties agreed to cooperate and invited relevant experts to form an editorial committee to jointly compile and publish "The Chinese Coinage Series" for the readers.
"The Chinese Coinage Series" is divided into two types: Type A and Type B. Type A consists of high-level research works, striving to reflect the research achievements of contemporary numismatics. Type B is a high-quality popular reading material, aiming to integrate academic rigor and knowledge, making it easy to understand and enjoyable for both scholars and the general public.
This book documents the monetary and financial thoughts and theories of 100 famous historical figures in China. The time frame for the selected figures spans from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to the Xinhai Revolution. The book comprises 12 chapters and 250,000 words, tracing the origins and developments of Chinese monetary theory, exploring hidden depths, understanding people and history, and clearly presenting the evolution of Chinese monetary theory. It is a popular reading material that combines knowledge, interest, accessibility, and academic rigor, serving as an introduction to the history of monetary theory.
